Catching the fleeting scenes of many splendored life

Spring Colours. Orange.
Orange Ice Plant.

This evergreen South African plant blooms in early spring with fire-like orange flowers — an explosion of colour that resembles a small-scale solar flare. I've always had a special liking for the red side of the spectrum, and the truth is such flowers conspicuously liven up any scenery.

  1. I'm looking for this exact plant! Did you order this one online? I'm looking for cuttings or a small plant. I've been looking for this plant for quite a while and I can't find any nurserys that sell this online. This one looks amazing. Your cat looks just like mine!

    Thanks!

  2. Actually, a friend of mine gave me an offshoot of this plant a couple of years ago and they bloomed especially profusely this year. I also had a flowerpot of purple ice plant, but it died. Have you looked for it at your local florist's shop?
I found a South African website where it seems you can request seeds:

I'll let you know if I find something else.
