The yellow-bellied slider (Trachemys scripta scripta) is a land and water turtle belonging to the family Emydidae. This subspecies of pond slider is native to the southeastern United States, specifically from Florida to southeastern Virginia. It is found in a wide variety of habitats, including slow-moving rivers, floodplain swamps, marshes, seasonal wetlands, and permanent ponds.

The Yellowhammer (Emberiza citrinella) is a passerine bird in the bunting family Emberizidae. It is common in all sorts of open areas with some scrub or trees and form small flocks in winter. It breeds across Europe and much of Asia. In Europe (in many parts it is in serious decline) and Asia most birds are resident, but some far northern birds migrate south in winter. It nests in hedges close to good seed sites, and in winter, the flocks raid newly-sown fields or overwintered stubbles.

  1. I'd like to correct you: those gulls are Black-headed Gulls. They are indeed similar to Mediterranean Gulls, but the adult Mediterraneans have all-white wing-tips.
Regardless, lovely pictures, I like all of them! :)

    1. I stand corrected -- these are indeed black-headed gulls (Chroicocephalus ridibundus), I must have mixed up the pictures. Thank you for pointing it out. Glad you liked the pictures.
